A bit of the build process...

Hand rolled some carbon tubes,

these were laid up with 2 layers of 3k uni-Directional and 3 outer layers of 2x2 twill

Next was the nose cone mold
and Nose cone lay up.

Layup is layer of Gel coat, several layers of 120gsm (4oz) Glass twill followed by 3 layers of 250gsm (~9 oz) crows feet weave

time to have a look at it's length, and yep she's a tall one...

Time for some machining

First up is the boat tail..

Next was to make up the Fin Stock

Stock was made from and sandwich of Carbon Fiber and Birch 1.5mm 3-Ply;

Total Layup (sandwich) was in this order;

Layer 01. 0 / 90 - 2x2 Twill (added post forming)
Layer 02. 0 / 90 - 1x1 Plain Weave (added post forming)

Layer 03. 45 / 90 / 45 - Birch 1.5mm Ply Wood

Layer 04. 45 / -45 - 2x2 Twill
Layer 05. 45 - 3K Uni Directional

Layer 06. 0 / 90 - 2x2 Twill

Layer 07. -45 - 3K Uni Directional
Layer 08. 45 / -45 - 2x2 Twill

Layer 09. 45 / 90 / 45 - Birch 1.5mm Ply Wood

Layer 10. 0 / 90 - 1x1 Plain Weave (added post forming)
Layer 11. 0 / 90 - 2x2 Twill (added post forming)

Total thickness ~5mm

They look so good, it's a shame to cover them with Carbon, I was half tempted to stain and coat them as they are.

Added outer layers of Carbon

Booster section / fin can assembly

The fins are through the wall, as there is a 75mm MMT installed
being the 98mm Hypertek only uses a 75mm fuel grain
which worked well, as it wasn't critical I do a tip 2 tip.

after a bit of a sand and first wipe coat
