Alien 1 - Original thin walled BT80 with a 29mm MMT

Rebuild after Lawn Darting

After several successful launches, on G's and small H's
she finally bit the dust, when it had an ejection failure on an Aerotech G64W.

Most likely cause, grease in the BP well,
though I have alway used grease extremely sparingly, especially with the delay O-Ring, it would seem that I got some in the BP well hole.
which was enough to cause the BP not to ignite.

The Result

What was left after the lawn dart..

On to the re-build

Cleaned up the remaining BT, and added and tube joiner, and took the opportunity to remove the elastic shock cord, and add a 1/4" Kevlar SC

2 new BT80 thin walled Tubes, de-glassined
Nose Cone and Tube Joiner

This time around, I've added 2 layer of 100gsm plain weave Glass, so I can put some bigger H and I motors in it.. and not worry about it pancaking..

Got the bits together, and the forward fins Cut out, and tacked on.

Another Mod I've made this time around, is I've made the lower section longer, and added the forward fins to the lower section.
this is to allow longer motors and Hybrids.

I'm also going to make the joiner an AV bay, for a timer/Alt
not necessarily for Dual deploy, but for the hybrid motors.
